Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s in TESOL, Linguistics or English Teaching.

Description

4 Day Workweek Monday – Thursday ON-SITE (no distance learning, not online) at our Daytona Beach campus. We are looking for a teacher that would enjoy teaching in a classroom setting as well as getting out and about with students to immerse them in their surroundings for learning! Beach class days, community events and learning through experiencing.

Schedule

11am-2pm Class and Conversation Hour

2pm-4pm Break/Lesson Planning/Grading

4pm-6:30pm Class and Conversation Hour

6:30pm-7pm Break

7pm-9pm Class

You MUST be available AT THE SCHOOL from 10:45am – 9:00pm each day Monday-Thursday!

~ Total of 30 paid days off according to our student calendar for observance of holidays and breaks.

~ Full time salaried position with end of the year bonuses!

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Comfortable with combined level classes as we grow our student enrollment.
  • Extensive lesson planning based on Student Learning Objectives. Textbooks used are Azar Grammar Series, Pathways Listen & Speak, Great Writing, Reading Explorer, English in Action, Reflect Read & Write and Reflect Listen & Speak.
  • ACTFL standards Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and of effective instruction.
  • Knowledge and understanding of teaching general, academic and business English.
  • Knowledge and understanding of principles of curriculum development.
  • Computer savvy and familiar with MyEnglishLab – Pearson and Google Workspace apps.

Florida DOE ESOL Standards.

  • Participate in school activities and faculty meetings.
  • Prepare and submit timely grade reports and other reports on student performance as may be scheduled or required.
  • Organize class activities and assignments, relating them to the overall learning outcomes of the course.
  • Provide input and work with other faculty and staff to review, produce and/ or select course-related materials.

About the School

Latitude Language (formerly Selnate International School) – established in 1999 we relocated operations to Daytona Beach, Florida from Provo, Utah in January 2023. In such a short amount of time we have grown from only 5 students to over 50 and are looking for long term faculty dedicated to our mission of making this an incredible school for both our students and staff! Our specialized curriculum is approved by The Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) and we have the ability to issue F1 visas to international students.
